Knock Down Rebuild - Luxury Cladded Custom Home

The Brief

The client came to us with an existing home on a narrow lot that was also within a flood zone. The home was old, tired and simply not functional. Instead of renovating, the owners chose to knock down the existing house to make way for a fresh new home that was custom designed, complemented their lifestyle and made best use of the block.

Project Details

A new light-filled home was designed perfectly for the block and family. It was constructed using lightweight timber framing and cladding with a solid stone base. The mixture of external textures gave the home a fresh, modern beach house style and feel.

Internally, the new dwelling consisted of four large bedrooms, two bathrooms, living, dining, media room along with a well-appointed chef’s kitchen and butler’s pantry.

As soon as you step inside this stunning home you are greeted with quality workmanship and designer features including raked ceilings, louvred windows, stone benchtops, custom-made bespoke cabinetry and an inbuilt projector with retractable screen that provides a modern convenience without detracting from the luxury feel of the home.

The home’s floorplan has been expertly designed to wrap around a stunning six-metre long central plunge pool that can be accessed via the BBQ alfresco area and viewed by all living areas in the home.

Due to the constraints of the block with a flood zone overlay, the home was designed and built on a suspended concrete slab in order to avoid flooding. This allowed for the home to take full advantage of the land available without compromising on style and space.

Strategically located skylights allow for an abundance of light to fill the home and along with a neutral colour palette and natural timber and stone features, the home exudes a warm inviting feel throughout the home.
